Environmental Education Programs

Research Projects / Competitions

We partnered with research institutions and organizations to host research competitions with students from organizations and schools such as Tutors 4 Kid and McGill University. Students undergo an initial 4 weeks of training, and an additional 4 weeks of competition, where students research an environmental issue and create a community oriented project to address this issue. They also hear from experts in the field and present their research through a symposium.

Lessons + Workshops

At Cycle Sustain, we believe that lessons should we paired with interactive workshops to support the students’ learning. We host lessons and workshops throughout several countries with partners such as Impact Schools, Fundación Quintanilla Amaya, Kisinga Vocational School, and Chao He Elementary School. These lessons cover topics across environmental engineering, sustainability in our daily lives, climate policies, and more.

Student camps / summits

We also prepare our students to be leaders in their communities and around the world. Through ambassador training programs we have prepared students to design their own projects and organize environmental summits where they lead peers in workshops, such as ones focused on creating new products from plastic waste or how to use agroecology to increase food production.

Global Exchange Programs

As climate change goes beyond a local issue, it’s important for people to share the practices they use to address climate changes so that everyone can expand their knowledge on how to address the issues with sustainability they encounter in day to day life. These exchanges consist of either synchronous exchanges through Zoom meetings or asynchronous exchanges through Padlet video recordings. Students are given a prompt to discuss, and form bonds with students abroad.

Speaker Events / Seminars

Having the opportunity to listen to speakers on global issues relevant to climate change gives students both an insight onto the research and initiatives being carried out and inspiration to start their own projects. Following these events, students are also given the opportunity to work with these organizations or professors on either the projects discussed in the event or a proposal that the student initiates with the speaker.
